With the
leaves on the ground and the nip in the air, we all know the holidays are coming
just around the bend.
Our days will be filled with food, family, friends and
fun, and of course, lots and lots of shopping. Rushing to and fro, so busy with
our own worlds, sometimes we overlook the little bits of kindness and compassion
all around us. There is a group of teachers, both retired and current, at
Northeast Bradford Elementary School who have thoughtfully remembered other
families’ wants and needs for 26 years.
Hands Across Northeast, an annual fund drive to raise money for food, clothing, and Christmas presents for children and families, will be celebrated at Northeast Bradford Elementary School in December. This is a celebration for the teachers, students, and community members who worked hard to collect the funds, as they have done for the last 26 years giving an opportunity to teach by example the real importance for the coming holiday. Everyone involved learns how just a simple penny can have a lasting effect as it ripples out into our community.
Now
here’s where you can shop and help this ripple out to touch your worlds. For
the 2011 Santa Sleigh Ride, participants will be raising money to benefit Hands
Across Northeast. The self guided tour of twenty one artisans in the Northeast
School District will be held
Thanksgiving
weekend, Nov 25th, 26th, 27th, from 9AM - 4PM.
